If you plan to fly into Vancouver International Airport one of the best ways to get to the Empress is via Harbour Air sea plane shuttles. The shuttles drop you off at Victoria Harbour which is right in front of the Fairmont Empress resulting in an easy walk to your hotel accomodations.

Ferry

Seattle to Victoria

For those preferring to travel by ferry from Seattle FRS Clipper offers daily service to and from Victoria island. A recent search on the website shows a departure leaving Seattle at 7:30am Tuesday July 12th and arriving in Victoria at 10:30am. On the return there is a ferry leaving Victoria Harbour at 5pm arriving in Seattle at 7:45. Total basic coach cost for this trip is currently $160 non-refundable or $199 refundable. Premium seating and services are available for additional cost.

Vancouver to Victoria

For those preferring to travel by ferry from Vancouver BC Ferries offers daily service to and from Victoria. It appears the closest harbour to YVR is Tsawwassen which is about a 50 minute drive south and the ferry lets you off at the Victoria Swartz Bay terminal. Getting from YVR to Tsawwassen can be done via car, uber, or BC Ferry shuttle.
