The Western Gas Measurement Short Course is a non-profit corporation 501-3(c) dedicated to the education of natural gas industry personnel in the areas of measurement, pressure & flow control.  It is administered by its officers and board of directors.  All are employees of Western United States and Canadian natural gas utilities and transportation companies.

The WGMSC Short Course is an unprecedented value in educational and networking opportunities:

 

  • 40 classes taught by industry experts on gas control and measurement topics from the basics to advanced instruction were offered

 

  • 37 hands-on classes were held for specific gas industry equipment instructed by authorized factory and manufacturers representatives

 

  • Round-table discussions on leading industry topics

 

  • 100 exhibits displaying the latest in gas industry technology

 

  • Unlimited networking opportunities with gas utility / transmission company technicians, supervisors and engineers together with gas equipment manufacturers and service company representatives

 

The Short Course seeks to improve the quality of service to the mutual benefit of the public and the gas industry, while advancing the knowledge and learning of the gas industry personnel. ​

The first Pacific Northwest Gas Measurement Short Course was held in 1960 in Seattle, Washington, hosted by Cascade Natural Gas Corporation. The name of the Short Course was changed to the Western Gas Measurement Short Course, to accommodate operators in the western United States and Canada.
